Rangers and Celtic fans will take the Scottish Football Association to the European Court of Human Rights if they either arrange Old Firm games for Monday nights or force them to be played behind closed doors.
Old Firm supporters groups have appointed a human rights expert to prepare a case for Strasbourg in the event of unfair stipulations being placed on the fixture.
The lawyer Padhraig O'Range will claim that any attempt to restrict fans' opportunities to get "blindingly intoxicated before the fixture...or..to indulge in blatantly sectarian and/or bigoted singing in front of a global audience would fundamentally violate their rights of freedom of association and expression".
If found guilty, the SFA could be liable to a massive fine or even imprisonment for some or all of their executive board members.
