LONDON - The coach of England's National team, Fabio Capello finally decided that it was time to let David Beckham go.
And so he announced that the legendary footballer, who has had a 14 year international career was no longer on the team.
The only thing that Capello forgot to mention was that he never even let Beckham know of his intentions. David was in Los Angeles, a little over 5,400 miles away playing 'touch mine and I'll touch yours' with his wife Victoria.
Beckham, 35, had not played due to several injuries including an Achilles injury, a slight injury to his left tonsil, and an outer ear infection which had required six stitches.
He had been in great spirits and was looking forward to playing until he was 40.
When he was told of Capello's decision he just shook his head and said that the coach must have had a little bit too much pasta with his last meal.
[EDITOR'S NOTE: It is a little known fact that when Fabio Capello has too much pasta with his meal his decision making process seems to become somewhat rather clouded. John Terry, Ashley Cole, and David Beckham are all very aware of this.]
Beckham said that he will truly miss the kindness of the English people as well as the wonderful strawberry crumpets, the mouth-watering fish and chips, and the gallons and gallons of beer he consumed in some of London's more popular pubs including The London Fog Pub, Sir Sidney's Pub of The Round Tables, and The Hearts, Spades, and Diamonds Club.
David was asked what his immediate plans were. He smiled and said that he was going to drive over to Anaheim and take his family to Disneyland so that they can meet some of Capello's relatives, Donald Duck, Mickey the Mouse (rat), and Goofy.
SIDENOTE: Victoria Beckham's name has already been removed from the Official British Footballers' WAGS* Registry.
