Liverpool Football Club have initiated an investigation after one of their players, Charles Itandje, a reserve goalkeeper and a Frenchman, was seen laughing during the Hillsborough victim memorial service at Anfield on Wednesday.
Quite what he was laughing about is unclear.
The footage of the French goalkeeper, 26, who was sitting in the Kop with fellow players, behind still-grieving families of the victims, is being circulated on the internet.
Itandje, which in Swahili means 'plank', probably couldn't stop a pig in a passage, and will be out of the Reds set-up by the summer, according to the LFC supporters club chairman, Richie Pedder. He said:
"That sort of behaviour was not appropriate. In any case, he's got nothing to laugh about. He's French."
