Hull City manager Phil Brown has said that his team will be able to concentrate that much harder on their Premier League survival, after they were dumped out of the FA Cup by Arsenal at the Emirates Stadium tonight.
Hull led for most of the 6th round tie through a Nick Barmby strike, before the Gunners equalised through Robin van Persie after 74 minutes. William Gallas then scored the winner six minutes from time to set up a semi final clash with Chelsea.
Brown told reporters after the game that he was glad the Tigers were out of the competition. He said:
"Am relieved! The bloody FA Cup is an encumbrance we could well do without. As me old Mam used to say 'the League's yer bread an budda, not some crappy old Cup comp!', an' she wuz right, Bless 'er!"
