Victoria Beckham, the wife of that footballer, is to take legal action against Peterborough United Football Club over their nickname, it has been reported.
Beckham, who used to be known as Posh Spice when she was a member of all-girl band the Spice Girls, has taken great issue after she realised that she has to share her nickname with the London Road outfit, who are known as The Posh.
She wants them to change their nickname, despite the fact that they have been known as The Posh since their formation in 1934.
Mrs Beckham's annoyance with Peterborough may have been fired by another matter, however.
The Posh are managed by Darren Ferguson, the son of Manchester United boss, Sir Alex Ferguson, who famously fell out with her husband when, in the dressing room after an FA Cup defeat at Arsenal, Sir Alex kicked a boot at Beckham and hit him over the eye. Later, the player was sold to Real Madrid.
Now, Mrs Beckham is pissed, and has instructed her lawyer, the LA-based Sue Myass, to issue a writ against the League One outfit.
Beckham also plans to take action against the London Road Burger Van owner, who produces matchday pies known lovingly by the supporters as Posh Pies.
Vendor, John Ferguson - no relation - said:
"I've been making my Posh Pies here for more than 40 years. I understand she's only about 34. Sue my ass? I might sue hers."
