Toronto, Canada. Special to The Spoof. The Golden State Warriors have reportedly hired Magic Johnson, recently departed from the Los Angeles Lakers, as an aide to Warrior coach Steve Kerr during the NBA finals, which start this week. Warrior management has refused to comment on the rumor.

When informed of the possibility that Johnson would be working with the Warriors during the playoffs, the Raptor front office was adamant. "We can win without Johnson on the Warriors bench. Having him there actually increases the likelihood that Toronto will reign as champion for the next year."

Las Vegas odds makers had originally favored the Warriors by a single point over the Raptors in the first game, to be played in Toronto, and considered the Warriors such a heavy favorite to win the series that they wouldn't take bets on the series outcome.

After hearing the rumor that Johnson would help guide the Warriors through the playoffs, Toronto is now favored by five points in game one. The championship is now considered a toss-up.

The funny story above is a satire or parody. It is entirely fictitious.
