After a weekend of sporting drama both at home and on the continent, it is with great pleasure that Back and to the Left news can announce that Doncaster Captain, James Coppinger, has signed a new one year deal with the club.
The new contract, with a £67million release clause, will take the inspirational midfielder through his 15th season with the club. But unlike the Big Bang Theory no one’s bored of James yet.
Even at 37 the 37 year old had a pivotal role to play last season. Racking up 42 games and twatting in five goals he was the creative hub for everything Doncaster did. He also organised the half time raffle at the Keepmoat.
Donny boss Darren Ferguson said:
It’s great to keep players of James Experience around the club. Not only is he a fantastic professional but he’s the only one who knows how to fix the fuse box if there’s a power shortage. I’m looking forward to challenging for promotion next season and James will be an important part of that.
Of course no one is more excited about the contract than James himself saying:
I’m super excited to learn I will be spending another year in Doncaster. My wife was thrilled when she found out.
Good luck James and good luck Doncaster.
