A second satellite, Hannah Banana, planned for use in the international Miley Cyrus Global Sighting and Positioning System (MCGSPS) was launched early Sunday from the Russian space centre in Baikonur, Kazakhblessyoustan.
The 700-kg spacecraft was launched at 2216 GMT Saturday atop the Soyuz cargo rocket, the Interfax news agency reported.
The GIOVE-B satellite is bound for orbit about 23,000 km above the earth. An earlier launch of the GIOVE-A satellite was the first piece of infrastructure placed into orbit for the MCGSPS.
Full MCGSPS operations are expected by late 2008 with a network of 30 satellites and several Earth stations.
Scientists hope that the Hannah Banana addition to the multi-satellite Miley Cyrus sighting and positioning system will help relieve the worldwide strain of constant worry about her whereabouts and daily clothing selections, as well as provide a limitless font of "candid" photos for her 6 billion fans throughout the globe.
