Picture the poor soul at the gay marriage ceremony of two octogenarian lesbians who have been together for more than half a century. There he stands armed with his preprinted placard reading: "Homosex is a Sin!"
The grandmas totter and teeter over the wedding cake and look into each others' eyes with the affection and knowledge and wisdom that few traditional church marriages will ever experience.
But there our boy stands placard in hand ready to denounce as unholy the love of a lifetime. Where does he return to after his valiant attempt to spoil the fun and beauty of a five decade long love? Surely a lonely place; from where else could such sad meanness come?
