Serious Satellite Radio is moving up a notch in quality and timeliness by moving the stars to the space station. Howard Stern is the first celebrity moving to the space station, and starting in July all his broadcasts will be done from a newly constructed wing of the space station dedicated to radio broadcasts.
Stern announced the move during a recent broadcast, "I am pleased to inform my audience that starting in July all broadcasts will reach your radios .7 seconds quicker and that you will have my undivided attention 24/7. Most guests will be shown remotely from the old New York studio as will the recurring topless stars".
Transportation to and from the Space Station will be via the Space Shuttle Atlantis and Discovery which NASA has sold to Serious for an undisclosed price, purported to be in the hundreds of millions of dollars. NASA is now awash in funding and is working on a new warp drive for the next generation of shuttles. The operation and maintenance of the Space Shuttle equipment will be outsourced to Rajesh Space Services of New Delhi. Serious is also in negotiations to purchase a Soviet Soyuz craft to transport supplies.
Plans are to increase the frequency of trips to the Space Station to give stars plenty of R & R. Also in negotiations for Space Station broadcasts are Rosey O'Donnell, Bassmaster and the live studio shows like Rock and Roll Legends.
