image for Kara DioGuardi Slips into Depression after Casey James Leaves Idol
Casey James Listening to Himself on ITunes

Los Angeles, CA - Casey James was finally voted off American Idol, leaving Lee DeWyze and Crystal Bowersox as the two singers going into the final round. Casey, looking incredibly vulnerable and sad, took the mike one last time and sang an encore of the song Randy Jackson and Kara DioGuardi chose for him the evening before, John Mayer's Daughters.

"Sure, I was bummed," said Casey. "But I think Kara knows just how grateful I am for all her special support and guidance this past year." As Casey began his song, he traveled down off the stage and toward the judge's table, seeming to intentionally ignore Simon Cowell and looking straight into DioGuardi's eyes as he sang the song lyrics, "I know a girl, she puts the color inside of my world" before continuing around to the backside of DioGuardi, and the rest of the judges, to sing to the audience one last time.

"I won't lie," said DioGuardi, "there was definitely a moment there. I felt as if our souls became intertwined and we grieved for each other." DioGuardi says she was saddest that James chose to sing the majority of his song behind the judges instead of remaining close in front of them so that she could get a few more delicious looks of that Texas eye candy before he had to finally be sent packing.

After the show, DioGuardi was said to be extremely emotional, as Jackson and Degeneres tried to soothe her. "I know this isn't the last we'll see of Casey James, not by a long shot," said Degeneres. "I mean, I don't know about you, but I get to see him next week when we rehearse for his upcoming appearance on my show. I'll tell your little boy toy you said hi," joked Degeneres, as Kara fought the tears back.

Said Jackson, "I'm no psychic, but judging from what I've seen tonight, I predict that in about 6 months from now, Casey and Kara will be working very closely together again." Said Kara, "thanks for the cheering up guys--and I mean that quite literally Ellen--but right now I can't help but feel that my heart has just been ripped completely from my chest."
