HOLLYWOOD - This weeks American Idol theme was 'songs from the movies.' And interestingly enough no one chose The Theme From Carrie; The Theme From The Good, The Bad, And The Ugly; or Watergate - The Theme From Frost/Nixon."
Lee DeWyze chose the song Kiss From A Rose, not the version by Seal, but the one by Courtney Love. Randy "The Black Dawg" Jackson said "Hey yo yo lissen up dawg. It was alright. It was okay. It was a little bit effen pitchy but, I don't know dawg, it just didn't freakin move me."
Ellen said that she liked it, but added that he sure ain't no Courtney Love.
Kara DioGuardi remarked that she wishes he had done the Seal version because the Love version sounded a little bit on the druggy side.
Cowell made a face and said, "If I may be honest, look, it sounded kind of like a theme park singer doing karaoke aboard a friggin cruise ship."
Michael Lynche sang a song from Alvin and The Chipmunks - The Squeakquel, "Single Ladies (Put A Ring On It)."
The Dawg said it was way too high. Ellen said that it reminded her of Aretha Franklin on helium. Kara said that it was so bad, it almost caused her to pee in her pants, and Simon said that he sounded like a great big black sissy.
Casey James then sang "Mrs. Robinson" from The Graduate. He said that he dedicated it to Kara. Casey sat in the middle of about 37 teenage girls with a mandolin.
Randy said that he noticed that he was looking over at Kara during his entire performance. Ellen asked him why he had borrowed Tom Cruise's guitar.
Kara blushed and said that she asked him not to sing that song, but he did it anyway, which sort of kinda tells her that maybe they need to break up. Simon laughed and asked who the hell Mrs. Robinson is?
Crystal "MamaSox" Bowersox chose a song from Caddyshack titled "I'm Gonna Bite." Jackson said that he liked the song but asked why she had decided to accompany herself on the tuba. Ellen thought that the tuba was a nice touch and asked if she could borrow it till Sunday.
Kara asked if her breasts were getting bigger or if it was maybe just the blouse that she was wearing. Cowell giggled and said that Crystal reminded him of a girl he used to date back in London. He grinned and said that she also had champagne cork nipples as well.
Ryan said that next week the song theme will be 'songs that were written by and performed by lesbians.'
