80s German pop sex kitten, Nena 49, has just announced a massive comeback tour after her classic single '99 Luftballons' has enjoyed unprecedented sales in the Sunderland and Manchester areas recently.
The tour starts in March 2010 and will take in several venues in the Sunderland and Manchester areas but the tour is unlikely to reach as far as Liverpool.
Nena's manager, Gunter Von Munnigrabben said: "Nena couldn't be more thrilled about zis unexpected comeback. Ve simply don't know vhy she is so popular again in zese regions.
"She may be nine 'kitten' any more but she can still get her mainly gay following jumping, mit her classic cold-war era protest anthem," he added as if he'd rehearsed it.
In a completely unrelated incident, the identity of the young football fan who threw a beach ball onto the pitch at The Stadium of Light on Saturday has become a closely guarded secret.
The Reds suffered their fourth defeat of the season after one of the most bizarre goals in Premiership history.
Darren Bent's 5th minute winner flew into the Liverpool net having bounced off the offending beach toy, part of a three-piece set available from the Liverpool club shop.
Football analysts are now pondering whether the cheeky Scouse chappie should have thrown the towel instead such was his team's performance.
Reports of a similar looking youngster's remarks outside the ground have remained unsubstantiated but onlookers claim to have heard the lad say "Grandpa Alex will be pleased" as he climbed into a limousine with the registration MANU AF1.
