The US version of the smash hit TV show "Poet Idol" is due to begin filming in April for the FOX Network.
Originally screening last year in the UK, the show which offered the top prize of the position of Poet Laureate for the Queen became a suprise hit.
The UK winner, 23 year old Tracey "LadyKiller" Johnson from Essex received 97% of the votes cast in the final, with her brand of rhyming xenophobic observations, swearing and obscene limericks. Her winning poem "Why I want to hit the French, beat them with my Monkey Wrench" is the fastest selling poem in UK history.
It is said that since she took on the role of Poet Laureate, her compositions for various state events held in Buckingham Palace have caused some extensive controversy. However, Prince Phillip is said to be a big fan of her work.
The winner of the US version is due to receive the same title, and Kay Ryan (current holder of the US title) has been given her notice period.
Simon Cowell has agreed to be a judge on the US show.
