The cynical Simon Cowell revealed recently in an interview with Canadian PoP Magazine that there has been tension on the set of American Idol.
Songwriter Kara DioGuardi has joined Cowell, Paula Abdul and Randy Jackson on the judges panel for the 2009 season.
Cowell let it slip that DioGuardi and Abdul "had words" over the positioning of their seats at the judges table.
"Paula figured since she's been on the show the longest, she deserved the prime seating position. Kara thought, as the newcomer, she should be featured more than Paula."
Reps for Abdul and DioGuardi have denied that the incident took place.
