Hollywood, CA, U.S.A. - Mel Gibson, controversial Director of the film The Passion of Christ has issued a statement regarding the film denouncing those who have accused him of portraying the Lord as an S&M fetishist.

"Just because Jesus was whipped doesn't mean that he enjoyed it..." said Gibson "Whoever the sickos are out there who claim otherwise are just anti-Christian, hate-mongers who are going straight to you-know-where!"

The Pope did not comment. A spokesperson for Gibson claimed that the Pope had commented but that comment was denied by a spokesperson for the Pope.

"The thing with the washing of His feet with the chick's hair was NOT a fetish. Telling everyone to eat His flesh and blood symbolically was NOT a fetish. Enough with the fetish thing, already!", Mr. Gibson told ABC's Diane Sawyer, "I can't believe how SICK people are out there!"

The funny story above is a satire or parody. It is entirely fictitious.
