There will be arguments in houses up and down Great Britain tonight, as to which drama, steeped in richly-observed characters and reality to watch, Poldark, or the return of Midsummer Murders.
In one, a handsome chap with a penchant for taking his top off, and putting the world to rights has his last ever adventure.
In the other, it will be yet another series of a show where everybody over-acts. Someone you remember being rather good in something in the 1970s has to say some under-written and offensive lines that will pay the mortgage.
However, like most people, you can tape both, watch both, watch neither, and your life will not be changed in any way at all, whichever decision you take.
