An actor in a TV drama involving a man who sometimes changes into a white tiger, had his face gnawed off last night, despite the fact that, in many countries, this would have been before the 9 o'clock watershed.
Thing is, in Cambodia, there are many TVs, a lot of water, and some sheds, but no TV watershed.
The drama, beamed from Thailand, focuses on four people: a young woman, and four men who like her. One of these men often turns into a white tiger and mauls people. Unbelievable! The other two are a handsome, young, go-getter police chief, and a handsome, young local bloke.
Neither of these two ever have as much as a hair out of place.
In last night's episode, the Tigerman comes across some policeman who are chasing him, and who empty about 1million rounds of ammunition into his body. He reacts by leaping on the leader of this bunch, and by slashing, and then chewing at the man's face.
The tiger mauls, the police chase, people stay handsome in the most trying and hazardous of circumstances.
Eventually, the young, handsome police chief is also revealed to be a white tiger - what are the chances of that happening? - and the two tigers have a fight. The newly-revealed 'police chief white tiger' is a nasty piece of work, smarmy, overly-confident, the sort of person you'd hate if you met him. The original Tigerman has help in the form of a guiding spirit, who is a collection of 'dead souls', and looks a bit like Nick Cave after a heavy session.
I'll let you know if anything else of note happens, but don't hold your breath.
