Viewers of ITV's 'I'm A Celebrity Get Me Out Of Here' were jamming the broadcaster's switchboard last night after becoming emotional over the heartwarming performance of a contestant named Anne Hegerty who, unfortunately, said the viewers, was also the spitting image of the Governess from 'The Chase'.
Anne, sweet, darling Anne, could be seen confiding in her fellow contestant, Rita Simons, about her Asperger's Syndrome, and how this affected her once she had arrived in the jungle. She looked close to tears.
Contrast that with her 'lookalike' from the popular Bradley Walsh teatime quiz show 'The Chase', where four contestants try to win money by answering general knowledge questions as a team, and then staying ahead of 'the Chaser'.
Amongst the Chasers is The Governess, a stout, stern-faced know-it-all, who appears in the show dressed in authoritarian grey, giving piercing stares like a Terminator T1000 before it dispatches someone. She is also known as 'Frosty Knickers', which tells you much. She's a right piece of work.
Speaking today, a timid Anne told us:
"Yes, I suppose I do look a bit like the Governess. The likeness is uncanny!"
In an amazing coincidence, Rita Simon, herself, is also the spitting image of a TV personality, former 'EastEnders' star, Roxy Mitchell, who sadly drowned in a swimming pool during filming on New Year's Day, 2017.
