CHARLOTTE, North Carolina - The singer who received his big break on American Idol back in 2003, has just announced that he plans to run for senator from the state of North Carolina.
Aiken, who took second place on American Idol's season two, still contends to this day that the only reason why he did not win was because Ruben Studdard's mom voted for her son a total of 27,812 times.
Clay said that justice was served since his career has totally eclipsed the career of Ruben "The Teddy Bear" Studdard as Paula Abdul pegged him.
Aiken, who is an avowed gay, spoke with Fitzwater Ribicoff of American Spotlight Magazine.
He told him that he would put on his red, white, and blue speedo and campaign harder than anyone in the history of campaigning.
Aiken said that he will kiss babies, moms, dads, and maybe one or two puppies. He wants everyone to know that he is just like the boy next door, assuming of course that the boy next door is a hell of a singer and rides sidesaddle.
SIDENOTE: Clay told Mr. Ribicoff that he wants to assure all of the straight voters that he will not only look out for the rights of gays but he will also champion the rights of the straights as well.
