CHATTANOOGA, Tennessee - Taylor Swift was in town visiting a relative when she was approached by a writer for Music Moments Magazine.
The writer Calcutta Cotton asked Taylor if she had gotten over her praying mantis bite that she had received while she was performing at her recent concert at The Beer Suds Stadium in Milwaukee.
Taylor replied that she had gone to a clinic and had been given two shots and some anti-praying mantis bite pills.
She thanked Miss Cotton for her concern. Calcutta then asked her if she had written any songs lately.
Swift smiled and replied that she hadn't. She grinned, rolled her eyes, and said that she really hasn't had a boyfriend for weeks now.
The 23-year-old then quipped that she is seriously thinking about writing a song that isn't about an ex-boyfriend.
She asked Calcutta if she would like to listen to a verse she is working on. Calcutta said sure.
Taylor grabbed her guitar and started playing. She then sang the verse:
I Skipped down to the creek.
To go and pick some posies.
I came upon a turtle.
And the darn thing bit my toesies.
After she put her guitar down she asked Calcutta what she thought.
Calcutta paused for a few moments. She smiled politely and then said, "Taylor sweety, you know I really love your music and you are very, very pretty and you have a great personality, but with all due respect...you need to gitcha a boyfriend hon.
Taylor smiled, winked, and replied, "Thanks Cal, I'll get ta lookin'."
