Fans of TV sleuthing have a difficult decision to make this evening as ITV's popular Oxford-set Lewis is back, clashing with Bones on Sky Living.
Lewis and his brainy sidekick Hathaway have to solve the murder of an academic who had been wrestling with a Lewis Carroll problem, while Brennan and Booth have to deal with the murder of a trucking company employee - and the return of Booth's son, who is yet to learn that he now has a brother
"It's a bloody disgrace is what it is," said Gilbert Teapot, of the TV Detectives' Viewing League. "Don't schedulers have any idea of the difficulties we viewers face in these circumstances?
"A new Lewis series is big news for our members and Bones has only just returned to its weekly spot after one of those stupid mid-season breaks the Yanks love so much."
"Meh!" said one viewer we spoke to in Bristol. "I just Sky Plus Bones and then fast forward through the adverts.
"What I want to know is where is Midsomer Murders? They kept putting that off for the football and now it's gone missing again."
Another added: "Sod the bloody plods and the feds - where's the football? Surely there's a European Champions League Final to see?"
Told it would be shown live on Saturday, he added: "Well, good then."
