HOLLYWOOD - After an eight year run which included 183 episodes, Wisteria Lane has been closed for some much needed repairs.
Desperate Housewives, the creation of Marc "Roly Poly" Cherry has left the 'Soap Opera Building' and will now head into syndication where Mr. Cherry will become even richer than he already is.
The show which was shown in 191 of the world's 196 countries will move over to TV Land where Gabrielle, Lynette, Susan, Bree and the other dozens of guys and gals will become a daily staple.
Marc Cherry spoke with Sangria Wine of TV ClickerWorld and he said that now after ending an eight year run, his next goal will be to go through all of the 112 episodes that Edie Britt who was played by Nicollette "The Ingrate" Sheridan appeared in and digitally removing her from the thousands of scenes.
[EDITOR'S NOTE: Sheridan filed a $6 million lawsuit stating that she was unlawfully terminated from the show because she had trouble pronouncing certain words including Massachusetts, photosynthesis, Zach Galifianakis, Czechoslovakia, and pomegranate.]
Cherry the creator and writer of Desperate Housewives was asked what some of his more memorable memories during the shows eight year run were.
The creator/writer who is an uncloseted gay blushed and stated that there have literally been dozens but a few that come to mind right away are that he got to meet Eva Longoria's then husband Tony Parker of the San Antonio Spurs and Teri Hatcher's then boyfriend Ryan Seacrest of American Idol fame.
He smiled as he took a sip of his Mimosa Margarita and said that he also got a thrill out of meeting singer Michael Bolton back in 2006, when he was dating Nicollette Sheridan.
Cherry also noted that he really enjoyed getting to dress up Longoria's character Gabby Solis in some of the frilliest, laciest, sexiest lingerie items which were all personally hand sewn by his very close friend Brucey "Sew-Sew" Farseletti.
Miss Wine mentioned to Cherry that a lot of the dedicated and devoted Desperate Housewives viewers were upset that he had scattered the housewives all over the United States.
Wine noted that he did manage to tie up some loose ends where Bree Van De Kamp, Lynette Scavo, and Gabrielle Solis were concerned but he kind of left the character of Susan Mayer hanging.
Cherry took two sips from his Mimosa Margarita. He grinned from ear-to-ear and simply said. "Ah, well Sangria, I really don't want to say too much right now but I will end our interview with these three little words...The Desperate Housewife."
