Early digital spy photos captured by pizza delivery men in and around the fashion districts of both New York and Milan, suggest that neon colored plaid will be the new "Pink" standard for Spring Fashions in 2010.
Tossing aside those early reports, publicists for both Calvin Kline and Hugo Buss design houses deny the validity of the photos, or the suggestion that plaid is indeed the new hot fabric pattern for Spring.
"Preposterous, petty photo pilfery, poor prognistication", says former English Major, now Kline publicist, Alli Teration. "The photos were clearly forged for someone's felonious favor".
"What she said", added Calvin Kline, while directing his staff to cover up bolts of bright yellow and fuchsia plaid fabric during our interview.
Clearly a secretive business, the fashion industry is now lost on how to protect their own ideas based on the growth of camera phone technology. Ideas that were once exclusive to a design house are now shared with every competitor in a matter of minutes.
Fashion Season Magazine editor Ira Cravat says, "I've seen the images. Pure horror. There's even an ultra mini skirt in bright yellow neon plaid that screams, Hey, Look At My Crotch. And those are the men's fashions".
Runways are expected to glow this Spring.
