SHOW ME, MISSOURI - In home surgery kits are now available in local pharmacies for minor surgery, to be performed by patients, for little out of pocket cost. "I have no health insurance and I was able to remove a small skin cancer by myself for less than ten dollars. My doctor wanted four hundred and fifty dollars to remove the cancer in his office", one patient commented. Kits are also available for wort, mole and appendix removal. "Being able to remove my own appendix, saved me a lot of money and down time in the hospital. I went back to work the next day". Kits are being developed for minor heart surgery and limb amputation. Physicians have mixed opinions about the use of these kits by patients. "Patients can now take care of minor issues on their own, freeing me up for more important procedures like brain transplants", one physician reported. Others have stated, "Patients can do this at their own risk. If they make a mistake, nobody gets sued". In Home Surgery Kits Incorporated spokesman says, "These kits are safe, effective and affordable. We see a bright future ahead for our company".
