AUSTIN - The Schlotzsky's sandwich franchise chain has just announced that it plans to change the corporate name in 2014.
Schlotzsky's Spokesperson Ashley Gail Tiarafelli stated that after hiring an independent research agency, it was determined that the vast majority of the restaurant's customers favor a change to a name which is easier to pronounce and spell.
The agency suggested that the company drop the name Schlotzsky's and simply become Lotz.
The CEO and board of directors were in total agreement and the new name should take effect within the coming months.
Miss Tiarafelli stated that the sandwiches, pizzas, and salads will still be as delicious as ever.
She also noted that the company will be saving millions of dollars a year since the shorter name will require smaller signs.
SIDENOTE: Ashley Gail Tiarafelli did state that the two Schlotzsky's that are located in Mexico will not be called Lotz but will use the name Muchos, which is the Spanish translation of the word lots.
