Stuart Pearce wanted me to play in the 'Team GB' football squad for the Olympics, but I said 'naaaaaaaaaaaaa mate - not likely'.

For a start - he wasn't offering me any money. I earn £250,000 a week for Manchester United, and about the same from sponsorship with sporting clothes brands, Nike or summit, I can't really remember which one. Pearce said the Olympics is for amateurs. Sod that for a game of sardines!!

And why would I interrupt my summer break to come and play for a team that haven't got a chance of winning anything? Bad enough I already play for two teams of losers - England (knocked out of Euro 2012 at the quarter-final stage) part-time and Manchester United (2nd in the premier league) full-time!! That's one hat-trick I don't want!!!
