My nephew Colin Prescott, 23, who works at Mega Mart St Helens Ltd - a company renting out space to small traders - is facing legal action after former company director Edward Pickering vanished in May, leaving a trail of debts.

He disappeared within weeks of my officially being backhanded to open the store. I would never have got involved if he had known the true situation.

Mr Pickering is actually a disqualified company director called Ted Ward, who has a string of failed businesses behind him. He is now being probed by the Insolvency Service for becoming a director when not legally allowed to.

Just what I need with the Police Commisoner's job coming up!
