Meals like this are being served less frequently at restaurants because people don't pay their book fines.

Sandra Beckle, Head Librarian at the Clinton Williams Library, says that the downfall of the economy can be directly traced to unpaid book fines, a financial staple for libraries.

"We need people to pay their fines for the good of the economy. The money generated from fines go towards businesses in the local community. Money is spent on manicures we get at Mandy's Salon on Poplar St. and on lunch at Denny's every Friday.

"Since people haven't paid their fines, we haven't gone to Mandy's and she had to close her business. Denny's laid off half of their lunch staff because we haven't been able to support them."

Situations like this are happening throughout the country. If you have an overdue book, you are strongly urged to pay the fine and return the book.
