Germany's health minister Daniel Bahr has been sacked after making a horrendous blunder prior to a press briefing on the current e coli situation.

Bahr was to be giving a keenly awaited update on the crisis that had led to various produce, including cucumbers and other salad ingredients, being banned by numerous European countries.

The minister intended to advise the assembled press that , in his opinion, the situation was improving but the publicity sent out 2 hours before the meeting used the unfortunate banner headline "E Coli Confirmed Wurst Over ".

The mis spelling sent the global media into overdrive and hundreds of journos filed articles in the morning editions advising that German sausage had been positively identified as the cause of the outbreak.

Millions of tons of sausage meat was dumped by producers and millions of dollars of orders of the product were cancelled.

The German economy is in freefall.

The funny story above is a satire or parody. It is entirely fictitious.
