A Ukranian nurse, once said to be "close to" Libyan leader Colonel Gaddafi, has applied for asylum in Norway.

Galyna Kolotnyska was evacuated from Libya earlier on in the year after the troubles escalated and she went home to Ukraine for a while in an attempt to keep a low profile.

But she moved to Norway in March because of media intrusion.

A source inside Norway's Immigration Department has confirmed that Miss Kolotnyska has now applied for political asylum on the grounds that it would be dangerous for her to return home or back to Libya.

She has also applied for asylum for her friend Mumu who escaped from Libya with her. Although not much is known about Mumu, she is alleged to have been burned in a fire in Tripoli and still has to wear bandages on her face and hands at all times. Her vocal chords were also damaged in the fire so she can only communicate by grunting.

Mumu did, however, inherit a sizeable sum from an old aunt and has already set up home with Miss Kolotnyska in a mansion on the outskirts of Oslo.

The funny story above is a satire or parody. It is entirely fictitious.
