The leaders of all states in the European Union have met in an emergency summit in Brussels to devise a common approach to Libya.
France, Germany, the United Kingdom and Italy's Premiers led the debate and have issued a statement on behalf of all the 27 member states :
"After intense but fruitful discussions, we are happy to announce that, perhaps against all odds, the European Union has agreed a common approach to Libya.
All E.U jets and fighter planes will gather at Taif Air base, Saudi Arabia from where they will fly West over Egypt and engage Gaddafi's airforce in Libyan airforce.
