AUSTRALIA- Lack of action and immediate medical attention in a Central Australian town last night has left one man dead and another critically injured.
The two men, who were attacked by an adult fresh water crocodile, did nothing to attend to their injuries, a move which witnesses agreed was their demise.
Barry Redmund, the first on the scene, recounts his actions moments after the attack.
"I asked if they wanted me to call an ambulance, but they asked for a beer instead' he said.
The two men then drove to the local pub, stating that "She'll be right".
Victoria Harper, a psychologist at the Australian Vernacular Institute, is not surprised by this.
"The 'she'll be right' attitude has resulted in many fatalities' she said. "The last case was recorded in 1993, so it's been a while".
This level of supreme optimism has not been seen since the black knight uttered the immortal words; 'It's only a flesh wound'.
