Maradona's Earrings Not Worth The Paper They're Printed On

Argentinian football coach Maradona's earrings were deemed worthless yesterday after being confiscated by Italian police in an effort to recover unpaid taxes.

Maradona's earrings were nabbed while he was resting at a health clinic, to help pay back 37 million Euros in back taxes he owes.

But subsequent tests showed the earrings were made of cheap plastic and originated in China.

It is thought Maradona won the earrings at a Carnival in Rio DeJaniero, during a South American international between Argentina and Brazil in the 1980s.

"Maradona turned up in disguise to try to kick ze ball into ze goal and turned down a giant teddy bear in favour of the earrings," said a Carnie last night. "He duped us out of the earrings which cost us 1 US dollar per million pairs."

Italian authorities, who recently confiscated a fake Rolex from Maradona - made in Turkey - expect it to take around 30,000 years to recover the unpaid taxes.

The funny story above is a satire or parody. It is entirely fictitious.
