The schoolchildren had been quarantined in Shanghai for showing symptoms of Swine Flu - or had they?
Tawnie Madras (14) was one of the first to be released from the hotel in which they had been confined.
"The treatment was kinda scary" comments Tawnie, "a lot of drugs and flashing lights with all kinds of homework".
"I had to learn to identify hundreds of Western leaders and work out what I would say if I ever got to meet them".
Apparently, the Western leaders were classified (in Mandarin Chinese) as "tar gets" and there were individual "tri ger" words to remind the children of them.
Each of the children has been provided with a surgically implanted capsule of "ex plo siph" that will apparently prevent reinfection with Swine flu.
The Chinese government has praised the composure and dedication of the British school party and is writing to many Western leaders to recommend that they make early appointments to meet the children when they return from China.
