Teen heart throb Rob Pattinson, star of Twilight was today hurt after being chased by a mob of excitable teens into the path of an oncoming taxi in New York City.
The cab driver braked, but the vehicle struck the twenty three year old star in the hip.
"It was crazy," a bystander told us. "Rob was shooting a scene on the street and all of a sudden he was mobbed by hysterical teens who looked like they were gonna tear him apart. As he tried to get out of the way he was hit by the cab."
"Rob's okay," a bodyguard told us. "He took a minor hit that was no more than a tap really. But it could have been much worse. It just goes to show how dangerous the acting profession can be."
The taxi driver, Travis Bickle, a war veteran told us:
"One of these days a great rain is gonna come and wash all the scum off the streets."
Which we found a little unnerving, to say the least.
