This man was Seen Scanning a Can of Spam

ROME - At a club meeting here, I have infiltrated the members and reported a stunning finding. Store products can be identified as being safely-free of aspartame only by decoding the bar code in an as yet unpublished manner. My confidential source related his observations at the secret meeting, of the club in Rome.

"I wondered how they knew how to avoid aspartame in food items at the store. You can't tell by the label, because 'natural flavor' may also include aspartame. Now it is clear how the elite themselves avoid it. They have a special hand held scanner that they scan products with and it lights up green if the product is aspartame-free, and safe to eat. These scanners are only handed out to top people, people that get bailed out when they lose a few tens of billions of dollars."

Yes, I think we know who they are. I'll be watching for one of those scanners when I shop. Perhaps I can purloin one. I wonder what color it lights up when you scan Zyclon B?

The funny story above is a satire or parody. It is entirely fictitious.
