There should also be a birthday cake baked by the palace pastry chef. The King’s favorite cake is said to be a fruit cake. No candles, please, as the King will be 75 on his birthday. Seventy-five candles on a fruit cake saturated with liqueurs or brandy could cause an explosion.
What kind of birthday gift does one give a King? Romania? An original etching by Leonardo da Vinci? Does King Charles III own a pair of Levis? Has he ever been pictured wearing a pair of Levis and a sweatshirt? He was recently filmed gardening at High Grove House wearing a necktie. Not just a necktie, but wholly dressed up, and with the added formality of a necktie. Naturally, the necktie had to have a Windsor knot!
