A farmer in Chandipur, a coastal village 150 miles southwest of Calcutta, has succeeded in cross breeding his cow with a Bengal tiger, and is now dismayed that the offspring of the union is eating his chickens.
Debjyoti Chatterjee, a local resident who recently filmed the calf devouring live poultry, described how he watched the bovine predator circle it's quarry from downwind, crouching menacingly before leaping onto it's prey from a distance of twenty feet with a blood curdling moo.
A veterinary expert has assured local residents there is no danger to human life. Despite this, terrified neighbours have barricaded themselves indoors following the mysterious disappearance of a water buffalo and two local postmen.
Filming for ' Predator and Alien vs the Marauding Moo Cow' is expected to begin next week.
