VIENNA, Austria – (World Satire) – After decades of contemplating a name change, the European country of Austria has decided to change its name.
And the reason for the name change was to avoid any further confusion with the down under country known as Australia.
The decision passed through the Austrian Parliament by a vote of 57 to 30, with 13 abstaining.
Austrian President Alexander Van der Bellen said that now the next move will be to find a suitable name for the country that produces more Vienna Sausages than any country in the world.
Meanwhile Mrs. Van der Bellen, has told her husband that her choice for a new name is Wienerschnitzel.
President Van der Bellen says that he is 91% certain that Austria’s new name will probably be Wienerschnitzel.
