Shock news that the big fishy thing in the movie, Jaws, was in actual fact a clever studio prop made to look like a fish.
Dave Dorsilfin, special effects guy in top Hollywood studio, Warmer Brothers, tells us:
"Yes sir, we just kinda rigged up this big sorta fishy thing by golly. We used old wet suits and polystyrene and sewed it all together.
Alfred Hitchcock, the movie's director, was pleased with the effect and most people who watched the movie couldn't tell the shark wasn't real"
But it's good news for Chief Brodie, who was the guy who closed the beaches in the film because now he will know there is no shark any more and the town can make some money during the summer holidays. Brodie said:
"If I'd have known this at the time I could have kept the beaches open. Bloody hell!"
Flipper the Dolphin told The Spoof:
"I was up for that part but Scorcese doesn't like me and got them to make a rubber shark instead. I coulda done it though with a few prosthetics. The bastard"
