Soldiers, out 'meeting people in the street' today

It's been 30 years since the brave people of Beijing stood up to the evil and trigger-happy Chinese authorities in Tiananmen Square and got massacred, and, to commemorate the massacre, the government is planning to stage another massacre, for good measure.

Just to ram the message home.

The fourth of June is the big day.

The image of the lone man standing steadfastly in front of a tank, blocking its way, just daring it to 'come on, and have a go', will stay with many people forever, and has become an iconic symbol of the worldwide struggle against oppression.

It was a huge embarrassment for the Chinese authorities.

This time, however, China will be prepared. All army leave has been cancelled, even though there is no 'Army leave' in China, and the might of the Chinese military machine will be at full strength to crush anyone and everyone who so much as dares to raise an eyebrow in opposition to the totalitarianest of totalitarian regimes.

A force of 400,000 soldiers armed to the teeth will patrol Beijing day and night, in the hope of finding some wayward dissenter whose head they can bash either in, or to a pulp, whichever is more convenient.

No Chinese people were harmed in the typing of this report.

The story above is a satire or parody. It is entirely fictitious.
