Students at a school in Bangkok were left 'reeling', when they were told their Science teacher would be taking some holiday leave, and would be going back to England for a while.
The students learnt the news - one of the few things they have learnt - when teacher Moys Kenwood informed them during lessons yesterday. They were crestfallen, and 'reeled'. One said:
"Really? That's great!"
Another, just as upset, laughed:
"Really? You're not going to come back, are you?"
The bad news seemed to affect different students in different ways. Some admitted to being 'disconsolate', although they had misunderstood the meaning of 'disconsolate', thinking it meant 'delighted'.
Some wept openly - tears of joy.
One person that wasn't upset by the news was Kenwood, himself:
"I need a break," he said, adding "really!"
