Donald Trump spoke to CNNs Jake Tapper to finally clear up his view on the KKKs endorsement of him. "You want me to disendow David Duke, I disendow him, alright?" Trump's statement actually did little to settle the controversy.
When Jake asked Trump if he really meant to use the word "disendow," Trump interrupted and said, "Look Jake, the media is always trying to fault me for some politically incorrect word or statement, I'm sticking with what I said. You yourself Jake, you asked me to disendow him before, and that's why I'm here."
The verbal gaffe by Trump has been picked up by comedians and has spawned the hashtags #disendowdavidduke and #disendowtrump.
A Trump spokesman later blamed Trump's newly invented word on a bad earpiece, "He really couldn't hear what he was saying, you guys - you know, CNN really needs to upgrade their equipment."
