Of Tweets, Rights and Censorship

Funny story written by Trevor McNeil

Tuesday, 25 March 2014

It was a dark day for freedom of LOLs, inanity and poor spelling in the Grand Kingdom of Turkey following the shocking exposure of an apparent block on Twitter service - thought by many to be a basic human right - by the Council of Dark Scary Overlords (otherwise known as the Turkish government).

The reports come in contravention of a law that bans any criticism of Turkey, Turkish history or Turkishness in general, thereby making Thanksgiving as fraught with tension and potential violence as Devil's Night.

Public reaction in free-thinking, democratic nations has ranged from "OMG!!11!" to "NAZIS! NAZIS #Thinking Is Free!" to "LOLZ!! THAT SO STUPIDZ!1! #Idiots".

The funny story above is a satire or parody. It is entirely fictitious.
