The popularity of Pope Francis is growing, helped by his unprecedented willingness to form bonds with differing religions. The much liked pontiff plans to visit seven different countries on his planned 2014 visit to the Holy Land, including historically sacred Christian shrines in Israel and parts of Palestine.
Arrangements have been made with the appropriate heads of state including Mahmoud Ab Ass, Sharon Peres and Fabian Picardo. It is thought that while security will be "a challenge" it is not insurmountable and has precedents in visits by Pope Gregory I and significantly Pope Solomon in 1899.
The Pope will travel by normal limousine and not his predecessors' purpose built vehicle for added security. After visiting the relic of La Linea de la Conception the Papal entourage will stop at the Holy Isthmus historical site and go through to Gibraltar to meet Herdei Judaist representatives. A visit to the underground holy cave of saint Macaque is said to be planned.
