New York - Manhattan astrologers reckon the weekend's waxing Pisces full moon opposing the Sun in Virgo, sign of the Harvest Goddess in reap-as-you-have-sown mode, could be apocalyptic.
Reports that a NY 10028 message board has been jammed with local stargazers' tales claiming the ubiquitous Man-in-the-Moon had suddenly morphed into an image of American Airlines Flight 77 were initially thought to be a crop circle story.
"Stands to reason," one Fifth Avenue blogger related, "the Harvest Moon's probably responsible for seeding the following season's mystery crop circles."
Like, duh?
Others maintain an outline of the Pentagon crash plane that killed 64 is highly visible on the lunar surface close to the Sea of Tranquility.
Viewed through binoculars the wreckage seems to lie close to other shapes resembling smashed up air carriers, thought to look like United Airlines Flight 175 and American Airlines Flight 11.
"Just an optical illusion made all the stronger by the Harvest Moon's hypnotic light," one freaked Ground Zero resident posted on the zodiac site.
The lunation won't reach maximum swell until early on Monday around 4.26am New York time.
