A Texas beauty queen has had her claims of unfair dismissal upheld in a U.S court.
Dominique Ramirez was stripped of her crown in January of this year after organisers of the San Antonio pageant fired her for turning up at a magazine shoot "too fat" and gave the title to runner up Ashley Dixon.
Seventeen year old Ramirez claimed that, in the dressing room beforehand, her lettuce and celery snack had been spiked with peanut shavings and this caused her to appear "excessive in girth".
It was also Ramirez' contention that the person who had tampered with her meal was a relative of her rival Miss Dixon.
After a week's deliberations the Bexar County judge ruled in Miss Ramirez' favour and reinstated her as Miss San Antonio. Judge Dolenz also ordered the local police commissioner to investigate the claims of food tampering, commenting "even size zeros have rights ".
