It seems that neither the Democrats nor the Republicans want to be the first to cut any entitlement programs so it is now understood (as most already knew) that this is all about politics, not the care of the nation.
"I wish we had at least one politician from the President on down that had the balls to cut down some of our raging national debt", cried Joe Citizen yesterday. "It's like the weather, everyone is talking about the national debt but no one is doing anything about it."
Meanwhile President Obama held a major speech Monday and announced that his new program cuts would bring our national debt down.
What he didn't say was that it would bring our national debt down a whole half of one percent.
Immediately mocked by Republicans. They promised to do something about the debt...later on.
Punt! Punt! Punt!
Maybe we should all go down to Washington DC, like they are doing in middle eastern countries right now, and ask the whole group to begin cutting their own inflated salaries and freebies first?
That would bring the costs of government down and eliminate at least ten percent of our debt.
Or we can punt.
