(Washington) President Obama announced yesterday massive road construction planned nationwide enlisting aid from thousands of unemployed people.

The "Pot Hole Brigade" as they've been dubbed are excited to be back working again.

Finding employment is proving nearly impossible in many regions as the jobless rate steadily increases, and today's first throng of arrivals have traveled great distances to pave the most damaged roadways.

"My wife's back in Seattle with the kids," said one man redirecting traffic in Louisiana.

"After we're done here it's up to Michigan," he said.

Temporary housing is being provided for entire families in some instances.

Many workers already used to sleeping in so-called Tent Cities are enjoying more plush accommodations.

The President also announced his plan to allow these road crew to work under alias without concern for nationality.

Critics deride this American Foreign Legion as an unnecessary and wasteful expenditure, but ask any member of the brigade and they will tell you otherwise.

"What else are we going to do?" pondered those providing meals to work crews in the local area.

"They took our homes, and everything's in storage. But we still can't make ends meet," was their rallying cry.
